Summer is a high-incidence season for fires. With the hot weather, factories enter their peak production season, power consumption surges, workshops are crowded with people, and warehouses are filled with flammable materials. Each of these factors increases the risk of fire. The recent numerous factory fires are a constant wake-up call:
On July 13, a fire broke out in the battery assembly workshop of the mining lamp factory of Yuguang Group Lead Salt Co., Ltd. in Jiyuan City, Henan Province, during the battery charging and discharging process. The fire occurred in a single-story steel-framed building, burning lead-acid battery production equipment, packaging boxes, and raw materials. Thick smoke filled the area. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. on July 2, a fire broke out in the workshop of a hardware factory in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province. The fire was extinguished at approximately 1:00 p.m., and no casualties were reported.
In industrial buildings, the fire-resistant performance of insulation materials directly determines the speed of fire spread. This impact is particularly significant in three high-risk locations: labor-intensive enterprises, petrochemical plants, and warehousing and logistics operations. Traditional industrial insulation materials have long faced a dilemma: organic materials like polystyrene boards and polyurethane offer excellent insulation, but they only have a Class B combustion rating and release toxic gases like carbon monoxide when exposed to fire. Ordinary inorganic materials, while non-flammable, suffer from low insulation efficiency and complex installation. This contradiction forces many factories to compromise between safety and energy conservation.
Different types of factories
Each has its own strengths:

Prevention is a crucial component of building fire safety. Rather than resorting to remedial measures after an incident, it's better to take thorough preventative measures early on. Choosing the right insulation material is an essential and crucial step in this process.
